Water in wetsuit legs

Postby nsidla » Sat May 12, 2007 1:42 pm

So yesterday I got out surfing in RI for the first time in six months due to multiple reasons, the main one being I wanted to wait for the water to get a bit warmer considering I've only been surfing about 6 times in my life including yesterday. Everything was decent, not great but decent as far as surf, maybe mostly 2ft with an occasional set of 3-5s, not much power but enough to stand up on.
My only problem was that I got pocket of water in the legs of my wetsuit. I think this might be due to the fact that my wetsuit was tucked into my 5mm boots and water got trapped in wetsuit because it was unable to flush out of my boots ( which apparently are pretty water tight). Should I put my boots under my wetsuit?
Also any tips on putting on cold water wetsuit gear and in what order to put it on would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any feedback.

If you're wetsuit is still wet, use a plastic bag over you foot when you put it on. It will slide on with ease. You might feel a bit goofy doing it at first, but once you realise how easy it is, you'll have no qualms about it.

that really does work a treat!! make sure you take them off before walking anywhere or you'll slip - I learnt that one the hard way

and dont put the leash on too tight or the water will pool above it
