I wear contacts and tried some $10 speedo googles. They waves knocked them off my face. And the water drops all over the lenses made it hard to see when sitting up on my board trying to scout out a good wave set. I ditched the goggles and just keep my eyes closed...and bring a pair of backup contact lenses along since I'm blind without them.chickentendah wrote:I once asked the same very question on another one of the surfing forums and got flamed to death. What puzzles me is how come surfers never in all the years decided to wear goggles? I know it would look silly, but there is some practical use for them i.e. for safety and for contact wearers.
