Could be, i know they are building new flats on the sea front. Couple of months back they where pumping tons of sand up the whole beach.

They say the reef will be there by september 2007... but that's only if the weather is optimal all summer. When the reef is there, the height of the waves and the amount of good surfing days will be doubled. Pretty good news, isn't it.

How can they increase the wave size? How can the change the wind?

It's impossible, they're just going to be putting something that makes the waves break in a more uniform direction. It's not going to make the waves themselfs any better!

They must no what they're doing to spend £8million on it.

Oh, the innocence of youth

The reef might work to give a better shape wave at a predictable spot (rather than the gutless dribble that boscombe gets at the moment) but it will still need proper groundswell to work - and the one thing that the south coast is short of is proper groundswell....

Every now and then, it'll turn a mediocre wave into a good wave, but it'll be a rare event, and when it happens it'll be supercrowded.

Thats my prediction anyway. But I didnt spend £8million on it, so hopefully Im wrong
