Thinking about a trip out to cromer on saturday, or even joss bay (because its my closest break and i've never been there)

The forecast is looking pretty good to my untrained eyes.

what do you experienced types think? worth a little road trip?

Just txtd a mate down in Suffolk. He reckons 1-2ft Cromer way for Saturday and clean.

good work, the board worked a treat btw

Its either sheffield utd vs charlton or a trip to the east coast in the van i think.

i've never been on the east coast before, my mate is getting all uppity and telling me i'll get cold, there will be no waves and the water is dirty.

waves on both sides. 2ft west coast, north east looking best at 2-3ft and offshore. have surfed cromer and surrounding breaks a few times when visiting the missus folks in carrot crunching conty. some of the best surfs i have had. water is a brown colour, but not dirty, just full of silt, like the waves at the end of rivermouths. makes them loads heavier as well. you know about it if you get one on the head. much clearer here up north. heres a few websites with photos of poo coloured waves.................

Yeah, ER was small clean & fun on Saturday morning. The banks at Cromer have gone so it is hardly breaking at the moment. It was bigger further North as usual. Friday night wasn't too bad, surfed a lesser well known break, 3-4ft with a little bit of wind on it but breaking nice n heavy :)

No chance.

A MSW 2ft at wittering is equal to 'about flat' except for on the push. Wittering is really affected by the tide and will only really work on the incoming push, unless its a really big swell.

And as hightide is about 10am, it'll be on the drop for most of the day. You might get a kneehigh wave if you're there for a dawnie or late in the evening. But I doubt you'll get even that.

Heading west for a cleanish small wave is probably the way to go. Not sure yet whether I'll be heading to the coast yet.
