I like the whole concept of The Elusive, a guy in a van travelling the UK and Ireland chasing the swells. Filmed by himself and featuring local surfers wherever he finds himself.

Im not the biggest collector of surfing vids and such .. and i know whenever this comes up i'm always reverting to one answer ...but once again ...

Billabong Odysee

" .. i know, i know ..its not a classic by any standards but its the only surf film ive ever seen at a cinema and seeing big waves on a huge screen gives you a lil' closer idea of what its like to be under the roof a 20,000 tonne tube .. man it still makes my blood tingle. I was like a kid in the audience ..all the established surfers were in the audience woot'ing it up, but i was like just sat there like a kid in absolute awe...couldnt move. I think i was even dribbling out the side of my mouth lol, not even wanting to swallow ...complete loss of motor skills !!! fleshing great .

The DVD has a bonus disc too which has a great soundtrack and nod's to every kind of surfer male and female .. around the world.

Other than that ..i've seen chunks of Step Into Liquid but never seem to get to see the whole film ! .

Billabong Od for me too. It's the only one I've seen, although I saw the first half hour of Fin the other day at my local surf cafe, but couldn't really hear the soundtrack so I've ordered it off the net coz it looked really good.

I'm lovin surf flicks! Taj Burrows Fair Bits is good, as is Campaign 2, Shelter I love, the whole Drive Thru series, ES2, I just love em all!
It always makes me laugh when I mention surf films to non surfers and they are like "what, Point Break ya mean?"!!!!
I would choose Shelter and Fair Bits if I had to because they sum up surfing for me. Fair Bits is all about having fun and messing with your mates and Shelter is more about soul surfing and surfing as a way of life.

anyone who wrote step into liquid or billabong oddesey should be banned form the water.

only joking, but as movies they suck. kook movies & big money spinners. it will be point break next...

anything by the moonshine conspiracy always has a good feel.

jack macoys old stuff like the green iguana, bunyip dreaming, sik joy is ace

kelly slater - black & white a MUST see

anyone seen the hub by christiann bailey (porthcurno boy), not a longboarder but i really like it. very well shot & very mellow.

and can't believe no one has mentioned...

...land of saints. shame on you!
