Rubbish. Pretty much everywhere.
A weak swell in the south west, but mucked up by strong north easterly winds

worth 5 hours travel?
oh while I am picking your brains, (you really should start charging for this service). Do you think we are likely to see another big south coast swell before the summer? I
really want to try out a spot on the south coast.

No.
The van stays at home this weekend.

Big? No.
Surfable? Yes.
We're just about past the time of year when I'd be expecting any sizeable swell for the south coast (the south east coast I should say). But a few feet wouldnt be at all surprising. I'm always on the look out, so I'll post a heads-up in the 'south coast' thread in members meetings forum if its looking likely.
This weekend is a pretty definite no.

I'm a newbie surfer, only started last year and havent surfed since september
I'm heading out to polzeath this weekend and wondered what suit i will need. Will my 3:2 be ok, with a vest and boardies? I have got a 1.5m neoprene vest i can wear underneath too?
Any sugestions anyone?

You should be alright with that...how the hell do you get boardies under your suit? What is it? A clown suit? o.O I have to wear boxers the only thing that will fit! Or you follow adrenalines example and go commando!
