Kiteys Next Board?

Postby kitesurfer » Tue Mar 27, 2007 2:18 pm

Fingaz crossed as of this weekend my time will be free to engage in board production for myself or other Harmergeddon team riders!

The question is what will it be? There's currently a choice of 5 in the offering. But i really can't decide as to which it will be.

Go for the Clark blank, then your workshop will be clear to make your Stand Up paddle board as you've been promising yourself :)

i just realised i dont have a clue why a clark blank would be better than the others, it just seems like kitey should make himself a board because he has been hard at work on everyone elses.

so... why is a clark blank held in such esteem?

Can you imagine the sup at boscombe hahahahahahaha. No that babies going to be for the bay at kimeridge and the waves at hook sands that break and peel for hundreds of metres.

'Cos they dont exist anymore!

Up until about a year ago (when was it?) the majority of custom boards were made from clark blanks. Then one day, for mysterious/environmental/political reasons (delete according to conspiracy theory) they shut up shop throwing the surf shaping world into chaos... for a short time, and then everyone sourced their blanks from somewhere else.

I live about 5 miles away form the clark foam factory. (Not a real big place) Everyonce in a while I will see people there working. One of these days I am going drive up and see what they are doing.

I bet it would be worth keeping the clark blank and waiting 10 years, then selling it for a stupid amount on ebay to a rich person thats willing to pay big bucks for the name.

(assuming the new blank sourcing isnt that different.)

I bet it would pay for an amazing surf holiday somewhere. I know this is cynical, but it could be a good investment if you wait till the surpluss have been sold.

I voted for Team Rider Rachel - Ladies first.

(says DBBB, safe in the knowledge that his board is his finished, and it would be no fun to nag kitey about his own board)
