Surfing Waves

Any of you guys know of a shaper around boscombe area, dropped my board getting it out of my van after a great weekend at saunton .
Has a 2" split on the right rail about 1ft from the nose. Thanks. Only just stopped crying

I did domething like that to my board.......Was out for about two months waiting for my board to be repaired. Luckily there was not much surf in those two months. Don't get depressed though.

Check if sorted surf shop do repairs, I assume they would do.
Also you can probably fix it yourself with a cheap kit, obviously that depends on the severity of it.

I have brought a ding all kit, but i will phone sorted in the morning. It`s only 3mths old, aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhh.
Any ideas what this may cost?. It is a custom board, a fbf beach beat.

And to top it all i`ve got the neck rash from hell. 1" wide around the front to 2" at the back, looks real nice. One mother of a love bite.
Don`t you just love ripcurl.

That suncure stuff seems to work realy well, if its deep build it up in a few layers.

Can you get pictures of the ding?

I would mix some UV resin with Q-cell to fill the ding. Then sand it down and apply resin soaked cloth.

I did that..well kinda...I dug my board into the sand..only to realise that there was less than an inch of sand and concrete below

If it's fiberglass do it yourself. Easy stuff.

You should be able to sort it yourself, just take a lot of time and care.

I repaired a smashed tail and it was pretty good afterwards!

Don't feel too disheartened.

You'll get a great sense of acheivement if you repair it yourself. Just remember, sand the area around the repair thoroughly, and don't try to do to many layers of resin or fiberglass in one go... do it one layer at a time, sand it and then apply a second (or third) layer of fiberglass to give the right thickness. If your board is gloss, you can brush on a final layer of high styrene waxed resin to get a gloss finish, but you may need to sand it with very fine grit sandpaper to get it perfectly smooth.

Also, if you use filler, take the time to test the colour match by mixing up a little bit, letting it set and then comparing it with the colour of your surfboard. The colour will change a little when you put resin over it, but should give you an indication if you need to add pigment.

Ha ha, I always mix a large bucketful and then apply about a kilo into the ding, then sand it down when I have a small mountain on my board

Sorry,you dinged your board man.Lets hope you get it repaired soon.Is there away you could buy a second board?.Nothing worse than having just one board,dinging it.Then sods law,the surf picks up and you have not got a board to go out on.

I have the old trusty bic, will have to do.

I think i've been lucky in that i've never had a problem that has rqd a proper repair. Suncure as above is good as is this
