Has anyone on here had personal experience of it?

I quite fancy going to have a look at it but it seems a massive hassle to watch one wave.

I went to see it once, but missed it.

Apparently it's a difficult wave, especially with all the dead sheep and shopping trolleys you have to dodge!!

There isn't normally just one wave, if your free next week there should be a big daytime bore running on the 20th and 21st because of the big tides.

Paccoro is the biggy in the Amazon, might need to spell check that though.

I would love to give it a go. But I don't have a long board. Any one ridden it on anything shorter?

i remeber reading that this springs bores have the potential to be the biggest in years, but my old man wont lend me his longboard cos my brother smashed up his old one pretty bad on the bore a few years ago. I went to watch it in the autumn and id estimate at least 90% of the people trying to surf it didnt catch it, most of them looked like beginners but i saw Guts there and he didnt catch it either so a lot of it must depend on luck and local knowledge not just skill.
Wouldnt recommend taking anything shorter than 9ft, and take a pop-out if you can cos theres lots of things to ding your board on - whole tree trunks get pulled up and carried along with the bore.
I saw a video clip somewhere on the net of a guy ripping it up on the bore riding a fish, but hes a local there and has the experience, personally id go for the longest floatiest board you can find, i know bic used to make some 10ft+ popouts, which would be ideal.

Soooo, anyone make it down to the severn then?? My sis usually photographs it for a local paper, she's captured some sweet photos of it before. I've never personally made it down to see it in action though...
