well i never thought it was possible but after surfing for a good 4-5 hours yesterday i now have a sun burnt nose and its march

Anything's possible when your nose is a big as the eiffel tower mate!!!

I must admit I did wonder whether I should put some suncream on when I was out yesterday as the sun was beating down, there wasn't a cloud in the sky and it was really hot (well, for this time of year - 18 degrees!) I didn't manage to see much sun in the end though....

Just remember even on a cloudy day around 80% is still coming through the clouds.

I'm in shorts and flipflops today

yea its warm 2day like 14 (well warm for winter) so gna hit the beah after work check out the tides

especially cuz ur in the water
and it reflects

I have to say you are the first person ive ever met who got sun burnt in the english winter.

Well, just for some moral support Phil, I'll admit that I got quite badly sunburnt on my face last easter hol. I surfed for about 6 hours without wearing suncream and it was actually cloudy too! I was really surprised!

I used to get the best tan lines ever. In the spring when it would get sunny alot more. You go out skiing for a whole day, and you never think about needing sun screen when you are downhill skiing. Well you get a wicked goggle tan...Never burnt, but had a wicked tan all year cus of how fast you can go from beach weather, to skii weather in the mountains.

I either use factor 30, all year, or get burned here:(

Fair skin, no ozone, closer to the Equator = scary sun levels.

Have you ever gotten sunburn inside your nostrils because of the reflection of the snow? That's not good, luckily I haven't suffered that too much, but I have some friends that have gotten it bad.

If I'm surfing at any time of the year I wear sunscreen......or I need to wear sunscreen. The amount of sunscreen put on is inversly proportional to the wave quality

It was 35 (about 1-2) this morning, and it's supposed to be 82 (28) on wednesday!!

its like 0 here today....calling for upwards of 12-14 on friday....it went from last week it was -20......crazy weather changes..

I've got a feeling we're in for a HOT summer. YAY!

Resulting in many long 3 and a 1/2 hour drives for me then and huge fuel bills.
