Stolen board

Postby chad1279 » Tue Feb 20, 2007 4:35 pm

This board was stolen @ Solimar Beach in Ventura, CA on Feb 17th... if you see it, send me a message please. It's a brand new 9'6" Stewart E-Type Hydro Hull that had only been in the water twice. I am willing to give a substantial reward to the person that leads me to it!

I don't care... as long as he gave me my board I would pay the thief himself!

Ouch! That's gotta hurt... Practically brand new too!! I'd have cried big huge manly tears over that... I hope you get it back mate, I really do. I very much doubt it'll turn up this side of the pond, but if it does I'll nut the thief and get it back for you.

Post it up on this web site.

Its a long shot, but better than nothing. A few boards have been recovered using it.

I cant stand a thief. I dont see how any surfer could ever even think of stealing anothers board.

Good luck.

I totally agree with you there. I mean, a surfers board is his most prized possesion. I can't imagine a surfer, who knows exactly how precious a board is, stealing someone elses. I like to naively think that it's all non-surfers stealing the boards...

I sure hope you get your board back. I know here on the Gulf Coast of Florida, the problem isn't that bad. I see boards laying on the Beach a lot. Now the East Coast is a whole different story. You can't set you board down and scratch yuor nuts without someone snatching it. Although it seems there might be a little less theiving going on when theese guys get caught.

Is 'punk' supposed to be an insult in america?
i really feel for you you poor guy... i hate thieves. and i got to admit it probably isnt a surfer who took your board...it's probably someone who works on a market [if you have them in america] and is gonna sell your board... i'm sorry hat probably doesnt make you feel better. although the thief wouldn't go back to where he thieved it from but the buyer might. =]
good luck in finding it. xx

But if its your most "prized possession" why would you ever let it out of your sight? And since this is a new board we are talking about you'd take even more care of it wouldn't you?

I don't need any lessons from you TicTac. I've learned an expensive lesson already. I just want to get some pics of the board out there. This is a custom board so it is one-of-a-kind. Maybe somebody will recognize it at some beach one day.

Is there any California locals on this board? It looks like everybody that has replied has been in Europe somewhere.

Anyway, I got some good news yesterday. A little FYI... homeowner's insurance covered the loss of my board, day bag, and tailgate rack that was cut.

Chill...you'd know if I was giving you lessons. I was asking questions thats all because you didn't give any info on the circumstances under which the board was stolen.

No idea whether it'll be the same in the US, or what your insurance policy will cover, but insurance over here will often cover the board as well as long as you werent using it at the time (so come creative claiming is fairly normal...)

So it might be covered as it was stolen? :?

Sorry to hear about your board. That sucks.

If you haven't already, you should definitely post your info in both the sporting goods section (in case someone shopping for a board has seen it) and lost and found section of your local craigslist page, and those within driving distance.

Your local Surfline page also has a spot where you can submit stolen board info.

Good luck to you.

That sucks. I would also keep an eye out for it at pawn shops. Yes there are plenty of surfers that come here that are near you. I hope the guy is caught and someone slices his "strap".

Yes "punk" is an insult here.

Gdude... it sounds like my homeowner's insurance is going to cover 100% of the price of my stuff after I eat the $250 deductible. The claims girl said it would be a week or so before she could get to my claim. I'll let you guys know.

Thanks for all the help about places to post pics. I've got pics of the thing all over the place.
