board repair: what type of sandpaper?

Hi,
I have a small ding on my board. I got an epoxy repair kit (you put on the epoxy and it hardens in the sun). Anyway, it says to lightly sand the area first. What grit sandpaper should I use? Also after the epoxy hardens, do I lightly sand again (if so, can I use the same grit sandpaper)?

Use 80 or 220 grit. After it hardens you want to get it smooth and as close to the actual board as you can without reopening the ding.

I have always just used suncure, and it comes with the sandpaper in the package, but you could go retro and do duct tape.

Rough the surface with 220 grit, apply suncure, let it harden, sand again with 200 , then sand with 600 then 1000. Try to get it so it it smooth with the board, but don't sand through the board itself. You should also be using wet/dry sandpaper. Get a spray bottle fill it with water, and a couple of drops of dishsoap. Keep the paper wet while sanding.
