Jack is a great singer/songwriter, and a realy good Surfeer too. I got to meet him, in the water at Papailoa on the North Shore, while on my Honeymoon November of '05. It was my last day on the Island. My 2 freinds that live there took me out to Papailoa, it's the last break on the N. Shore before Halleiwa. I only got to say hi to him, and then he snagged a reeling right and was gone. Brock stayed out with us for a bit longer, and shreded the rights. Got to also meet Shane Beschen, and watch pancho Sulivan win the first round of the triple Crown.

how can anyone NOT love the guy. Hes a great surfer, has made some great films, and regardless of musical tastes, his music flows perfectly with surfing. Hes also an avid environmentalist and a really nice guy.

Ye he was in Cardiff a year ago. He is really really good live - just something you gotta expirience. Glad I got to see him before he stopped touring.

Heard he's pretty down to earth. Looks it. Definitely created a new genre in music and sound. Not many ppl/musicians can actually say that.

...including Jack Johnson

In what way is his stuff a 'new genre'???

I own the obligatory one JJ CD for when its the right moment - but it is too bland to listen to the whole thing. If an electric guitar and drums kicked in towards the end of 'Good People' and played a big rock finish I'd listen to it far more often

Yeah Jack Johnson has some good tunes.

But I've been listening to Ben Harper longer than JJ, and think he should more attention than JJ.
