Girls/Women who surf

hey guys, I'm doing a line of surf wear for my final year and was wondering if any GIRLS/WOMEN could answer a few questions for me, it would be truely helpful. cheers

Age:

Occupation:

1. How long have you been surfing for?

2. Do you feel that women’s surf wear is broad enough or do you think there are other things that could be included, if so what are they?

3. What brands do you buy?

4. What brand would you buy if you could (that are maybe too expensive for you or rarely find)?

5. Do you think that today’s surf wear brands are appropriate for older women who surf? Why? (Ok what I mean by this is not grannies who surf, but people who are like 30+, do you think that they should be wearing say roxy clothing? or if you're young do you think you might like a more sophisticated surf wear brand available to you when you get a bit older?)

(ok I know this next question is a bit silly if you live in a cold country but just on the odd chance that you’ve surfed in hotter climates I’ll put it in anyway.)

6. Have you ever surfed in just a bikini? If so did you have any problems? (e.g. loose your bikini top)

7. what swimwear brands do you buy?

8. What Brands do you find have the most supporting swimwear for surfers (to keep boobs in place when you're surfing)?

9. From a scale of 1-10 (1 being the worst and 10 being the best) how would you rate the following to surf in. (this question is for people who surf in warmer climates and don't need a wetsuit.)
Swimsuit (standard)
Swimsuit (backless)
Triangle bikini
Halter top bikini
Tank top bikini

10.) Do sun tan lines bother you (eg, from rash tops or funny shaped swimwear)?

11.) Do you try to make an effort with your appearance or could you not care less?

12.) What do you wear after you finish surfing?

13.) In short how would you describe the surf lifestyle?

Cheers folks

a real surfer wont do it for the brand names, they'll do it for the love of the sport.

(ok I know this next question is a bit silly if you live in a cold country but just on the odd chance that you’ve surfed in hotter climates I’ll put it in anyway.)

6. Have you ever surfed in just a bikini? If so did you have any problems? (e.g. loose your bikini top) errrrm surfed in bikini top and boardies a bit in the summer. only problem was that i looked fat, but i was trying to tan up my white bits.

2. Do you feel that women’s surf wear is broad enough or do you think there are other things that could be included, if so what are they?

3. What brands do you buy? Seafolly, Athleta, Pualani, Point Conception

4. What brand would you buy if you could (that are maybe too expensive for you or rarely find)?

5. Do you think that today’s surf wear brands are appropriate for older women who surf? NO Why? Because they're selling to the youth market and do not want to be associated with older women who surf. All about image luv. They cut their suits for teenagers.

(Ok what I mean by this is not grannies who surf, but people who are like 30+, do you think that they should be wearing say roxy clothing? If you feel good about your self, then wear it.

Or if you're young do you think you might like a more sophisticated surf wear brand available to you when you get a bit older?) what do you mean by 'sophisticated' - exspensive fabric? built in mp3 player? diamonds? better cut? please explain.

(ok I know this next question is a bit silly if you live in a cold country but just on the odd chance that you’ve surfed in hotter climates I’ll put it in anyway.)

6. Have you ever surfed in just a bikini? If so did you have any problems? (e.g. loose your bikini top) Yes. Triangle tops tend to slide where the shouldn't after a wipeout.

7. what swimwear brands do you buy? Same answer as question 3

8. What Brands do you find have the most supporting swimwear for surfers (to keep boobs in place when you're surfing)? Athleta, Pualani and those Freya jobs with the built in bra. I have two Athleta racer back tankini's - look good and stay in place. Pualani - very well made with support and style.

Tank top bikini 10

10.) Do sun tan lines bother you (eg, from rash tops or funny shaped swimwear)? No

11.) Do you try to make an effort with your appearance or could you not care less? Off the water, yes. When I'm surfing, no. All I care about is the waves.

12.) What do you wear after you finish surfing? A big smile. Winter - jeans, parka, wooly hat and toasty foot wear. Summer - dress, skirt, boardshorts or jeans.

13.) In short how would you describe the surf lifestyle? Spirit of Aloha

4. What brand would you buy if you could (that are maybe too expensive for you or rarely find)?i find a way to afford most.

6. Have you ever surfed in just a bikini? If so did you have any problems? (e.g. loose your bikini top) hahahahaha. so many times.. they dont make bikinis that are suitable for surfing they always come untied or the bottoms fly off. its not fun especially with all the guys at in the line up.

7. what swimwear brands do you buy?
i like billabong and roxy for bathing suits.

8. What Brands do you find have the most supporting swimwear for surfers (to keep boobs in place when you're surfing)?haha as of now. none. there all about fashion which doesnt work to well because they fly off.

Tank top bikini-6 they havent made a bathing suit[that ive ttrried[ that the padding doesnt get fleshin' uppp or fly off.

10.) Do sun tan lines bother you (eg, from rash tops or funny shaped swimwear)? i dont mind bikini tanlines but the rashguard ones suck.

I live in Costa Rica and I have been surfing for a little over a year, but I go surfing every (and by every I mean every) day and what I would like to see are more longer boardshorts and bikinis that actually stay on.
I have serched the web high and low for longer boardshorts and there really isn't that good of a selection. Alot of the tico guys here are real pervs so walking around in shorter shorts or a bikini is just asking for a hard time.

More board shorts!

3. What brands do you buy? Mohs and Rusty

4. What brand would you buy if you could (that are maybe too expensive for you or rarely find)? Dont know...

5. Do you think that today’s surf wear brands are appropriate for older women who surf? Why? I dont think i would care about name brands but maybe i might like things that fit different or something.

(ok I know this next question is a bit silly if you live in a cold country but just on the odd chance that you’ve surfed in hotter climates I’ll put it in anyway.)

6. Have you ever surfed in just a bikini? If so did you have any problems? (e.g. loose your bikini top)
Yeah! I like surfing in just a bikini. The only problem is the underband on them is often to small. I dont like it when the underband is just a string that slides around and cuts into your back.

7. what swimwear brands do you buy? What ever fits man

8. What Brands do you find have the most supporting swimwear for surfers (to keep boobs in place when you're surfing)? Most brands have something i might like as long as it has a thicker underband.

9. From a scale of 1-10 (1 being the worst and 10 being the best) how would you rate the following to surf in. (this question is for people who surf in warmer climates and don't need a wetsuit.)
Swimsuit (standard) it works but yuck so 2
Swimsuit (backless) 3
Triangle bikini 5
Halter top bikini 10
Tank top bikini 7

10.) Do sun tan lines bother you (eg, from rash tops or funny shaped swimwear)? not to much. Its nice to rotate different pieces

11.) Do you try to make an effort with your appearance or could you not care less? yeah i little but just a little

12.) What do you wear after you finish surfing? Tank tops and board shorts

13.) In short how would you describe the surf lifestyle? Carefree, layed back, counter culture maybe
