^^^What Well probaly depend on what time of the year and surf conditions but everytime i been Bude its been packed. This was during the summer not sure about winter

Plenty of places near Bude though. Look at the map, get in the car, you'll find somewhere with almost no-one out.

I do Bude at least once a year, its not always heaving in the summer either, i've had 4ft clean waves on the town beaches with hardly anyone on them.

When it is crowded there are a few spots that are a short drive away that are pretty much empty. One word of advice watch out for the rocks.

o i was thinking about widemouth round the corner from bude which is probaly a better place to go.. is bude the place with the massive rock pool???

well ive only ever been to bude once, and there was about 5 locals and nobody else there. But they where the 5 most aggro hassling locals ive ever come across (and thats from someone who surfs gangland regularly)

Only surfed Bude once, but I learnt to surf at Widemouth in '85(lived there for the year in '86! while working at Outdoor Adventure) and that was always busy if it was working. Really nice vibe tho, seemed like a sort of social focal point of the town. I do remember there were a few hardcore locals that took a while to get used to me being there - Darren 'Dazzle' Wright and Mike Raven were a couple of them! Was a while ago now so probs different but FWIW...
