Surfing Waves

Right...made a huuuuge mistake! Basically I gave my baterry of my Canon camera to a mate who needed to take some pictures with his canon camera. I forgot to get it back! D'OH!

But...I did buy a couple of those disposable cams so when I get the brains together to figure out to scanner at work I will do that!

Well..how to sum up the trip?! ..I don't even think I can!

For the first 4 days I was surfing solid North Shore! 10+ faces consistantly. Even bigger on decent breaks/sets!
After that I spent the rest of the time on dawn patrol on the South Shore and a few times on the North. Ala Moana bowls is even better than I remember it!! It got double overhead for a few days there!


Ohh...Pipe....ha! I watched the Pipe masters for the first half day I was there then the mext morninig I woke up to get in there before the competition blocked it off! Sat out the back with a few locals and a few tourists. After about 30mins of waiting...I took off on one! Heavy drop and I freefell and just bit the reef! Got worked around a few times and ended up getting caught inside for a set! Not fun! I pretty much did that untill I slided a backdoor one, made the drop, bit the closeout. But I did get the hang.


Surfed Sunset...and It's probably one of the best waves in the world (not at low tide!) Surfed a dawn patrol with Kelly ..wel...not with him... But he was t sunset and I could see him! WOOT!
Made me look like an idiot..but hey!



There is a lot more I could go on about...but it would bore you!

South swell was awesome! Loads of spots lit up and the crowds weren't as bad because most people were on the North Shore!

Fleshin' pictures!! They come out so crappy! All blurred and smudged...also there are big dots of black in them!
I reckon I am going to go to a shop and see if they can do it!

aww man that sucks for me. i got out the first day of the swell kind of late at 530 and caught one good wave. i went to the north shore yesterday and figured out i definetly need to buy a gun. waimea is nice and clean but impossible to catch riding a shortboard.

I surfed Waimea! But it was using a 6'10 rounded pin! It's all about paddling straight towards the beach then as you get lifted up, angle more towards the right and slam the tail down so you don't freefall!

Shame about not getting there! It was soo uncrowded for a swell like that...on the south shore! We were at bowls getting double o'heads (not to be confused with english mesurment of overtoe!). It bombs over the reef at low tide though!
