Maybe if you're a goofy foot and you love riding front side, but you're surounded by right point breaks.

also there seem to be less goofy folk around so you can get quite a few frontside waves when theres quite a few in the water

might just have a few different conotations over here. Personally i like it front side.

When you (regular footed) finally go to Bali and you check out the breaks.... You will be very disapointed when 9 out of 10 of the spots are lefts!
But it also helps if, when you start learning, pop-up on which ever feels un-natural. Then "hopefully" you should be able to ride both!
