1 - way of life
2 - without surfing, Hawaii would just be a really big US airforce/navy base
3 - first surfed in 1987, regular surfing for 2 years
4 - was in australia, thought it looked fun
5 - being in the ocean, the adrenaline rush, the lifestyle that goes with it
6 - does not influence my daily life, but does influence my long term life very much

10 - Yes, I live 1400 kms from the ocean right now, but since I am relocating in the next year closer to surf, hopefully I will never have to think about that question again

but i'm doing a skilled work about surfing at school in order to get my university- entrance diploma and i have to add the interviews in an adequate form. it would not look good if i would just add some printed lines from a forum to my work!

its a freesport, like skateboarding or snowboarding

dont live in hawaii. Surfing plays a pretty big role here, lots of suf shops, lots of surfers. But we're still seen as a bit odd by regular people cos we go in the sea in the middle of winter

freedom, the challenge, better to be out doing something physical in the open air than being stuck indoors playing a computer or watching tv.

getting that one wave you remeber for ages, nailing a really sick turn you wouldnt normally make.

do not live there i am in the uk. but it is big here too just evey one i know that does not surf thinks i am made going in the winter

no never it would kill me i would have to travel to surf
