I know this has been mentioned before a lot, but are they any good and are they worth £60 odd? I know quite a few people say its better to make your own, but since christmas is coming and theres nothing I want really, I was thinking of maybe getting one.
Also are the longboard indo boards still good if you shortboard? or are the smaller ones better?

I would say defo get 1 but they arnt the best for surfing as they are very 2 dimensional (you can only balance from front foot to back and not rail to rail) but they are such fun and a great training aid for doing things like press ups and the like.
But you can do some mad tricks on them, so far i can manage hanging heels/toes,180's,ollies and just latley i can pop up onto it from a press up. + their cool to see what ordinary everyday things you can do on them like eat brekfast or put your t-shirt on (which is freckin solid).

My brothers just bought another version(not sure what its called but will post a link when i next speak to him) which doesnt have a roller but a ball thing that gives 360 degrees of balance-but i havent had a crack on it yet so i cant really pass judgement.

Oh yes you can!

(Okay, I see your point, its not really rail-to-rail but you can certainly get some side-to-side action going)

Two ways to do it -

Either put the board sideways on the roller (perhaps best to do this when you've got something to hold onto). You cant move very far, but it does really make you work on the side-to-side balance :?

Or put the board the normal way on the roller, but hanging way off one side, then learn to turn it by pivoting on the side off the roller. If you get the board about half off, and get to one end of the board, then you can make it really loose and spin it about all over the place. Falling off at this point is optional

Mrs DBBB managed to juggle on mine at the first meet at Lobb fields!!

I can indoboard better than her, but she can juggle about a billion times better than me!

I just made one. So if you don't like it, you only lost about 1 hour of time and a couple bucks.

You can go dumpster diving for the ply, and find some huge PVC somewhere.

What thickness of Ply should you use?

I'd say 3/4" and up, but depends on the length of the board and how far apart your feet are...sorta

Just grab a piece and before you put the stoppers on and before you cut it stand on it with something in the middle.

You can always glue and screw two together.

The balance360 board is cool, does what it says!

It's "surface dependent"
- on a rug or even wet sand it's much easier than on concrete or wood flooring.

Also depends on the diameter of the ball underneath it. It ships with 2 made like small basketballs, a small "beginner ball" and a larger ball. Took me a few days to get balanced on the larger ball without holding onto something. After a few months I might get a larger ball (maybe a regulation size basketball).

My only complaint is the quickness of the small ball to deform when my 220lbs are on it. no such probs with the larger ball.

you can also dial in the action by how much air is in the ball. If the ride is too "wild", you just have to let some air out.

It takes about 10 minutes to start feelin' the workout, I'm working on 1/2 hr. a day. Just a few weeks 'till I get my "Yoga for Surfers" DVDs and a 32" Flowboard from the Mrs.

Starting tomorrow I'm going to try a "push-ups & pop ups" routine... sets of 10 push ups followed by 10 pop-ups on a boogie board

Found a move called something like a death drop where basically you stick the roller up on its end then balance the board on top so it forms a 'T' , now balance on the board on top of the T, you then have to slide the board down the roller as the roller falls over you should land on the roller with the board underneath you and be in the classic indo board postition.
Ive never been able to pull this 1 off and normally just fall onto the floor from a great height  .

Ive also found that normaly when i surf it takes me a few waves to get my popup dialled(especially if its steep), so on the weekend before i went out i practised doing popups on my indo board and that massively helped.

Hey Fishkid get a video of you popping up on your Indo, that sounds so bloody difficult!

Been watching a few folks using the Indo on youtube and this girl kicked ass, I need a helmet when I get mine made!

Hey that girl was pretty good,

I got one recently though just after I did my ankle in (not on the board though!) so having to wait before I try anything other than just standing on it!

Can't wait to try some spins and stuff.

Saw some good footage of people popping up somewhere, I'll try to find it. Think they make it look alot easier than it is!
