Storing surfboards

Always keep my surfboard in its bag and so far (been surfing few months now) have kept it outside against the house but would really rather have it stored inside now. Trouble is I don't have much space to store it. Probably only solution would be some sort of vertical wall storage in the garage.

How does everyone else store their boards and does anyone know of a vertical wall storage system? If there is one, can the surfboard be stored in its bag?

Really appreciate any advice!

in my garage... i have a wooden shelf fing and it has 2 bits of wood that stick up on the ends... it's about 2metres off the ground and i put mine and my bros surfboards up ther (1 each) and also 3 bodyboards, mine, my bros, and my dads.... it works really well... the only problem is that i have to move the bodyboards to get to my surfboard.

The shelf was made by my dad just a few pieces of wood and nails =]

they r all stored in there bags,

mine is in my room about 1 metre from my radiator, is this ok because i heard that i can ruin a board if it is stored in to much heat.

One is leaning against the wall next to my bed, and the other two are leaning somewhere else in my room - I put em wherever I can find space.

I had them hanging horizontaly on my living room wall so I could stare at them all night while I watch the snow come down....
Then my wife moved them to the garage so now I just watch the snow come down and curse.

WooD, nice storage.

Personally I store my two boards in my room, standing on their tails and leaning against either end of my book case.

The only room I'm allowed to keep boards in is what I call my computer / gun room. Sucks the ceiling height in that room is only 8 foot, and my longest board is 10 foot. We do have 14 foot ceilings in our living room, dining room, and kitchen, and our bedroom has 11 foot ceilings, but my wife is kinda funny about those rooms.

I have four boards in the corner of my study, all nicely lined up with the tallest at the back smallest at the front so i can see a bit of each of them. As i work in a surf shop i'm surrounded by boards of all shapes and sizes, so get to look at them all day, thats when i'm not watching the DVDs we have playing in the shop, mind when you've seen them for the 100th time it can get a bit irritating.

I have the same setup as WooD, but in my garage. Easy to do - it's just PVC pipe, long bolts, and that copper pipe insulation.

Also - for the person who asked about heat: heat (like being right next to a radiator, fire, or something hotter than a normal day out in the sun) can be bad for the board. Better to have cold than heat any day.

LOL...that's really sad....and exactly the sort of thing i would do, if i had more than one board!!!

my (lonely) board stands in the corner of the living room. I've thought about getting a stikup rack like this one...
