VW Camper surf trip in California

My wife and I just got back from a 2-week trip to California and we scored the most amazing surf adventure. Instead of taking the normal route, renting a car and moteling along the route, we opted for the rental of a VW camper bus. What a cool way to go!

We found this little company that rents restored Westphalia campers and sets ‘em up for surf travel, equipped so well that we only needed to add food and our personal gear. They even gave us a bundle of firewood!

The state campgrounds in California are pretty evenly spaced up and down the coast, and most are very well equipped so we always had fresh water, toilet facilities and even many have hot showers. Oh yeah, and most of 'em are WIFI!

We owned a VW camper bus back on the 80’s when we surfed all over the place and saw the sights through the big bus windows. A real retro-trip doing it again, and we didn’t have to worry about keeping the thing maintained ourselves.

We made so many new friends, who attracted to the camper’s great condition, shared about surfing trips in their own VW’s. We scored great waves and met some of the nicest people! For example, check this Blog from a couple from Switzerland: susienzo DOT blog DOT 20minutes DOT fr

We totally recommend giving this a try if you are going out to surf the West Coast.
They are: Vintage Surfari Wagons in Mission Viejo, Ca. Really nice, helpful people. TRIPLE w DOT vwsurfari DOT com
Just wanted to share our neat discovery.

And it just happens that you're the owner of the company.

Nice one!

It's obvious that this is advertisement. What I wanted to know was whether he left a clue somewhere, so that pat knew that wetwillie was behind the company as well.

Well, normally if someones first post is praising something as a delighted customer, they usually have something to do with the company that they are so excited about.

I've got nothing against it at all; shows initiative............. but it's pretty obvious...............and this is not my site.

Now if his fist post was......'Please help!!.........what size board shall I get?' and then he went into 'Do you think it would be cool to rent an old VW and travel the California coast?', someone might have done a google search and come up with his site, and posted it here.

But someone already did that.........and didnt bother changing their username on this site, to something different than the name they had plastered all over the site that was kindly put up as a weblink by another newbie

Watch this space!!!

i dont see the attraction. If i was gonna hire a van for a surf trip id go for a modern one with all mod cons, not some crappy old "restored" camper.
