what is the wave size that you like to ride? not what you want to be able to ride. but the waves that you enjoy going out for. i think we all could say the 15' plus, but for most of us this is not the case. i like the 5'-8' area, i'll go out on 10' but at that point i'm out of my comfort zone.

We are measuring wave faces right
Id say i like 4-6 with clean faces you can get aewsome rides like that. I love big surf too say 10+ but im always glad it doesnt stay too long. Id say my comfort zone ends at around 15 ft thats when it gets a bit hairy for me. Im gonna go out when it get really big just for the buzz but yeah anything over 15ft and im browning it.
Thats surfing comfort zone my bodyboarding comfort zone is the bigger the better all the way up to 18+ which is currently the biggest i have been in. Mind you theres nothing scarier than taking a deat drop in 18ft surf

and then getting caught on the inside nasty stuff
Nah give 4-6 with the odd 8ft set with clean waves and offshore winds any day of the week . No need to go any bigger
Anyway its not about big its about how good it is big surf is mighty nasty in chopped up condition not to mention suicidle.

I said 4-6. Hopefully with smooth, glassy faces and some nice little tubes.
I say this because you can still ride pretty much any board you want. Big enough for a shortboard, still small enough for a log or fish. Also, the surfing is still relatively easy, as compared to 10+ feet (like today)
So it's relaxing and fun. On big stuff I get adrenaline rush, but don't have as much fun. Plus you get to try stuff out, instead of sprinting to the shoulder in fear of being destroyed.

yes i am measuring faces. and let's say the conditions are glassy, with a nice offshore breez, on a sunny day.

I really like 4-6 because its fast, powerfull and you can get tubed but its not crazy big.

some nice 5-6 foot faces, with the odd 7 or 8 footer, with glassy and clean long rideable faces is whats most fun and comfortable for me as of right now, its also still a good challenge, and gets the adreline going which is always awsome

Happy with 4-6ft wedges but if its not a wedge I prefer more size.

If we're talking face height i prefer 1.5m-2.1m.

I put 2-3 but would probably say more in the 2-4 ft range since I am just learning.

Its got to be 4-6ft, keeps the crowds down outback, and big enough to really go to town on. The odd bigger set is o.k too, but bigger than 12ft is for pros and hell men.
