Fave Surf Movie of All Time....??

Postby barrelled2perfection » Mon Jun 14, 2004 12:23 pm

Ok, we all know that Big Wednesday and The Endless Summer are surfing classics, but does that make them our favourites??? Which surf movie, in your opinion deserves to be ranked number one in your collection???

September sessions - it's what surfing should be about - having a laugh with a bunch of mates and chilling.... Also Singlefin: Yellow is great for chilling along with...

I really don't know....I think thicker than water would be a likely choice. It is full of awesome music and footage from amazing breaks, and it has some brilliant surfers in there too. An altogether wicked film. I really wanna get my hands on the new Billabong big wave movie "Odyssey". Anyone seen it?

Yeah, Point Break for sure! I just love the ending where Patrick Swayze/Bodhi (whichever way you look at it!) goes out into the HUUUUGE waves because that's how he wants to go...and the police people are like "We'll get him when he comes back in" and Keanu goes "he's not coming back..." IT'S REALLY SAD!!! :( And appart from the amazing surf, i also have a bit of a thing for Patrick swayze (yes, I know he's 51!!)

So yeah: "Point Break, bro!"

The best surf movie of all time is "Apocalypse Now"...it truly captures the sense of total dedication to surfing. "...If I say it is safe to surf this point, it's safe to surf this point!"

for me it's a tough call between endless summer and singlefin:yellow as both of them really capture what surfing should be about and what I love about the sport.

To be honest - I find shortboard surf films dull as old dishwater. Just boring!

Has to be a good longboarding flick if you want to see really beautiul surfing. Somehting you can watch over and over again aan dsomethign that makes you want to go surf everytime you see it.

Hi purple balloons, welcome to Surfing Waves.

I really like Momentum - the soundtrack is superb and lead me to buy my first Pennywise album.

Momentum I&II is good, but I think my all time favourite is Endless summer. I envy those guys, travelling around where no-one ever surfed before, let alone even travelled before them.

I just got Step into liquid, Thicker than water, and Surf adventures, haven't seen them yet...
