Hey!
As some of you may know I am heading to the north shore this christmas and I am going to be surfing there and other places quite a bit. I know I need a decent gun for it, but I am unsure. I will not be out on those super huge days, but I am going to go out even when its pretty big. A mate told me it should be at least 7' for around 10ft faces.

Any advice?

buy one used. i sold my gun in great condition for only 70 bucks. theyre cheap at surfnsea, and check craigslist when youre here.

i got rid of mine because it was too big, i couldnt duck dive. i know its pretty impossible duckdiving in big surf anyway, but i usually see 'the pros' riding shortboards so i got discouraged from the gun...

Do you reckon I will be able to surf any bigger condition with a 6'10 ish sized board?

yes. i do with my 6'1 but i dont have much luck. but im still to scared to get dragged in the whitewash. i think the same rules apply though, it depends how big you are, what do you normally ride?

I can ride anything from 5'11, to 6'8 pin tail if it gets bigger here. I am almost 70kgs and 5'9 tall.

So, I should just be able to rock over and buy a board there?
