anybody see any cool stuff while there out surfing. i think seals are the best thing ive seen. their probably common in other parts of the world, but i dont see them often here. its great when they're just floating around on their backs. i only usually see them when the water is quiet.

good stuff

There were three porpoises and their calves out the other day, jumping out the water in pairs. It was amazing. Plus there's a pod of dolphins that bimble past occasionally.... lovely aberystwyth, eh?

cool stuff. before i started surfing i never realised how much sea life we have around our coasts. when your younger you think that if you want to see cool wildlife you have to go to africa on safari ot something, but britain has loads of great wildlife. problem is lots of it is very secretive.

I mainly surf in Santa Cruz and it's common to see dolphins, seals, otters but last summer i witness something i will never forget. It was a summer day and there were some nice sets coming in (around 5ft) as i was paddling back the sun broke through the clouds and i saw this guy catch a really nice wave, he was alone on the wave (not the usual here) because everyone had caught the last few waves. So i'm paddling back to the lineup and the surfer is cutting accross riding the wall when all of a sudden two dolphins explode out of the face of the wave just in front of the guy jumping about 15ft forward back into the water. The two other guys and myself that caught that as we were paddling out just looked at each other and smiled.

H2ODog: if you guys had a camera at that time wou´d be rich selling this picture.

Did the guy on the wave whipe out or just kept riding?

I've seen some dolphins and fishes, and one time i could see tons of Jellyfish around me, so i went out of the water. Nasty burn, those give.

I love the nature thing of surf. I feel good just to be able to float around and see the beauty of nature. (Dont get me wrong, once out with a bord i try my best to surf, not just look around)

Yea, if i had a camera it would have been great, it was so perfect that one would think is was a fake picture. The guy kept riding like nothing happened, which made it that much better. I would have probably jumped 15ft in the air from the shock  Everyone has a day they remember, your best wave ever, the largest wave ever and so on. For me this was one day i'll never forget, even though i wasn't on the wave myself.

fish, reef shark, 1,000 sea turtles which get very annoying when trying not to hit them, and a monk seal with a big radio strapped to his back. And an umbrella floating in the water, and lots of huge sea birds swooping too close over my head. oh and a few very attractive girls with tight bodies that drive me crazy, distract me and get me smashed by waves.
