Just got a 2nd hand board with a deck pad on. Can't stand the things, does anyone know how to remove it without ruining the board

Heat it up with a hair dryer then slowly peel it of, remove all excess glue with white spirits or petrol and a little elbow grease.

Warm it up in the warm/hot sun (depends on where you live... Hot assumes UK type climate).

Peel it off.

Use "Goop Off" or similar (non-corrosive chemical sticker remover) to remove the residue.

Done!

Oh yeah. You are heading into winter, while we are heading into summer :D

Point is to get it nice and warm to assist the peel-off, which helps to minimise residue.
