One less jetskier...

It was enevatable really and I'm supprised is hasn't happened sooner. A jetskier was killed at Porth Ceiriad yesterday (not made the news yet) after he was knocked off by a wave.

I don't feel the least bit sorry or shocked at this, those who know the ares know that its illegal for skis to be used in and around Porth Ceiriad and Hells anus mainly for that one reasons esp at ceiriad becuase of the wedge.

One less to have to deal with and additionally it might send a little message out to others being dickheads. At least it will for a few months.

I really don't see why. Most people have said the same thing but at the end of the day it was his choice to be an idiot.

A vague report has made it to the BBC - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/5375188.stm

We've all had endless trouble with nobbers comming accros from the midlands with the skis and not having a clue and generally being idiots. Its going to be one of us in the line up that gets hit one of these days.

I see your point and can understand your frustration at this as its obviously a problem there - I dont know of the issue so cant really comment much on that but I know from seeing people speeding towards sandbanks beach on their Jetski when theres kids playing in the shallow water that they're a very real danger and the people using them are often completely ignorant (becuase they dont take the time to find out) that their actions are illegal. I do find your comments perhaps a little harsh.

People often make mistakes and put themselves and others in danger, for example by driving over the speed limit, not even excessively can risk the lives or yourself and other road users but people do it all the time and even complain when they get caught.
No one really expects the worse to happen but it sometimes does. When it does and someone looses a life thats a sad thing not a good thing even though it may help someone to learn from anothers mistake and not take the same risk.

The thing about not speaking ill of the dead never used to make sense to me either when you look at it in black and white - why respect someone just for passing? but then you're speaking ill of someone who doesnt have the chance to defend themselves or even make good their on their bad behaviour which is unfair and I do think disresepectful.

Everyone is entitled to say what they feel and I guess it must be a real issue there to provoke a response like that. If its a problem there cant they put something in place to police it? - we have the police to stop people driving stupidly etc, its a waste of a resource really because people should know better in the first place but its obviously needed to protect others that are more aware of the dangers of the sea.

Sorry for the ramble - really trying to get out of doing my coursework!

jetskis are the water-based equivalent of souped up vauxhall novas with side skirts and a baked bean tin exhaust.

thats harsh bro. Thats like saying if you cut me off on the lineup over and over again cause ur one of those "think their the xxxxx type of guys" and then ate xxxxx on of the waves u cut me off of and died, i could say you deserved it. No one deserves death man. maybe the guy didnt know either u know. dont judge situations so harsh, people make mistakes, and death is not somethin to be so uncaring about. Because that guy had a famliy, friends, and everything else.

Agreed jetskiers are annoying but how about showing some respect for the people he's left behind! There not responsible for his death and they could be reading this froum.
Personnally i think your comments should have been kept to yourself!

agreed. respect is respect, which should be one of the unique qualities of human beings, regardless of creed, age, sex, race, religion, etc. people make different choices, even if you may disagree with them.

Hopefully something positive can be drawn from this rather tragic accident, jetskiers should be forced into takeing a profeciancy test the same as motorbikers and have heavy fines, confiscation orders against them if they break a set of well drawn up rules and regs.

Yes, what we need is more rules.

People should learn to behave. Honestly I don't fully agree with papawoolacombe harsh words, but I think we can all understand him.

i understand why you dont feel happy. i think you have been greatly annoyed by them.
it is true that guy wasnt smart, that he didnt read the rules. I do feel sorry for him but idont live their. i do not know what its like. Jetskiers have never bothered me and all of them go were they are allowed to go, not the ocean, just the delta.
