Does anyone have
Taj Burrow's Book of Hot Surfing
It seems like an awesome book at Border's and I may want to purchase it and I couldn't find it in stock. Any one have reviews on this book since its a bit pricey $25, but it seems pretty good and has some helpful tips in there as well.

Got it, love it. Although most of the stuff in there is way beyond my level, it will be useful in a couple of years time.

Its like my bible, and like libs said some of the stuff in it goes to like pro level so really you are never going to finish the book. He tells and shows you how to do EVERYTHING.

he's got a website which has some extracts from the book, take a look and see if you think its worth it.
Personally im not convinced you can learn that much just from reading a book.

ive got it. It's good in the way that it explains step by step the technical aspect of certain tricks. However, don't think you will instantly be turning pro after buying the book.
Definately a good bathroom reader though

It's a pretty good book. It'll get you started on a lot of things.
Allthough, I feel that it is missing a lot of the detail involved to really make the most of the moves. Like bottom turns: it just sort of says look and point to were you want to go.
Were as I read an article by Brad Gerlach called Master Moves detailing how to get maximum speed and maintain power through the turn. Foot placement, weight distribution and transferance, body positioning and rotation etc...

So its a pretty good book overall? I want to learn some moves now, since I'm able to use my 6"6.

even if you dont learn much from it, at least itll break the moves down so you knwo whats possible on a surfboard, and youll be able to recognise what other people are doing when you see them surfing.
