Just come back from the Billabong Surf Film Festival that showed the new Jack Mc Coy movie 'Free As A Dog'. Overall it wasn't bad, but ive seen better surf flicks. It focuses on all the surfing Joel Parkinson does and also includes 2 groms who tag along with him.

Theres some pretty nice surfing in it but what made it for me was the short film at the start before free as a dog. You get to see Andy Irons and Parko surfing some huge waves in Tasmania. It was really amazing seeing this kind of surfing on the big screen.
They get some pretty heavy wipeouts on some monster waves. It makes our worst wipeouts look like a small splash. It really was great to see.

Yep thats right, it was the Shipstern Bluff. The waves were just HUUUUGE
The wipeouts were nasty! It hits you like a train and then sucks you up and spits you out like 300m down the other side of the sea.

haha, I was waiting for you to say something. True though, it would be difficult to drive to some surf spots, through some very narrow country lanes.
