Epoxy ding fix kit.

You should be fine on the 6'11".

I'm getting ready to buy my first board. It is a used epoxy 'funboard' shape, 6'11". It has a ding on the bottom of the board, in the mid-section just right of the centerline. It looks like someone pressed a quarter through the outer shell at an angle and wiggled it around. Kind of nasty looking, but deifnately repairable (I would think).

I've heard of stuff called 'ding stick' that you just pack into dings. Would this be recommended? If not, what would you recommend. Board is in great shape besides this one ding.

Also, if you have advice, do you think this board is too small? I've only surfed once before in my life. It was my friends 6'6", and I didn't have any problems standing up. But I've heard people say I'll have much more fun on something more like 7'4" or bigger...

thanks!

Sweet. I saw something called solarez, but that seemed to be the same concept as the ding stick. I'll go with the 'ding all clear' repair kit I found on google and just follow the directions.

I'm 5'8" and 145lbs, so I'm thinking the 6'11" will be good. I want to be able to progress quickly and they say bigger is better for that, but I don't want a monster that I can't get through the surf when it picks up. I'm in pretty good shape so I figure I may still be able to duck dive the 6'11" with a little practice.

thanks for the advice guys,

Have someone with experience fix it. EPS repairs are a little tricky and fixed inproperly can be a nightmare on the underfoam.

Dont ever use quickfix crap, it is too brittle and often pin-holes leaving the ability for water to seap into the foam creating further problems.

Just my .02

No no no.. Solarez is for fiberglassed boards, not epoxy.

Make sure whatever you get says specifically it is for epoxy.

Resin will not work.
