Surfing Waves

I was wondering how do you start to move down from a funboard or any type of longboard to a shortboard. I want to soon but I'm not sure when. I dont surf that much but I'm able to angle down the wave and starting to learn to exit them.


I think the major problem for me would be the pop up on a shortboard since I allwas seem to nose dive or go over the falls. Any methods to practice balance and pop ups?

Does anyone know?

I wouldn't be in such a rush to get a shortboard. You should be using a board that makes you surf well.
