What wax are you using in the UK?

Bought some wax from a local shop and then realised it was 2x cold to cool water. I didnt think too much because why would they stock wax that doesn't work for this summer. Anyhow after having used it the past few weeks I feel like some of it (especially on the rails) are washing off.
Works alright on the deck but I need to wax my rails each time I go out.
Any thoughts? What wax is everyone else using? Cold water?

Is your water temps that cold? I've always used a 5X base coat first, then I lay down a nice top coat of Kronic all temp wax.
Our water temps are in the mid 80's right now. In the winter they get down to the mid to high 50's.

This weekend will be my first weekend of trying Northern Lights cold water wax. Haven't tried putting any on yet but I can let you know how it goes.
Doesn't smell quite as nice as Zoggs though but its organic.

urghhhhhh mr zoggs smells awful!!! (the wax, not mr zoggs himself). It reminds me of drinking malibu which makes me think i'm drinking aftersun oil.
Why am I still thinking about alcohol?

Maybe its time to finally admit I have a problem

Oh, and Im on 'orange' sexwax - cool water wax is fine as long as you dont leave the board in the sun!

Bought this longboarding cool water mrs palmers wax today, the guy in the shop advised me on getting it as you get much more wax in it for the price. Suppose to be the best, so I'll see what it like now.

ok the cool water longboard Mrs Palmers wax worked ok, used most of it already, I did slip off the board once though.
The wax wipes of my rails really easy though no matter what wax I use.

and do any of you have any tips on how to not to get the wax coated in sand? (EXCEPT don't take wax to the beach!!)

Sand can be a nasty problem when it gets into your wax. The only thing you can do is give your board a good full clean , apply fresh layers of wax and not to lay it down in the beach on sand. You will still get the odd few bits of sand on your board which is bad becasue it takes the grip out of the wax.
What I do after every surf is wash it down good with the hose. It's good to get the sand out and also you should do it to rinse all the salt water off it. Salt water is no good for a surfboard.
If you still see some parts of dirt/sand in your wax just scrape that little bit off and apply some new wa over that area.

that's cool - thanks. Actually i'm really pendantic about keeping my board real clean and sand free too.
but i kind of meant, the wax block itself. Mine always get coated, and i end up throwing them away.

oh ok, just make sure you dont wax over dirt/sand on your board, and keep the wax in a box or little bag so it doesnt pick up any dirt/sand.

ah a little bag. i'll get one. Obvious, when you know the answers.
Stupid though why wax comes in stupid cellophane or little cardboard boxes. Why don't they make them like some hair wax or like lipsticks, where they come in a tube, and you wind up how much you want, and then put the lid on.
It would be much better.
