went to see it for my birthday prezzie in a lil'dodgy cinema in Bristol the week it was released in the uk ... im sure most have seen it by now but man .." how inspiring are those maniacs " !! ..

If you buy the DVD you get a second disc with some real nice old and new footage of other quality surfers and the soundtrack is real nice .. lots of smooth soul tracks .. opens with a Roni size track as i remember .. cant ask for more than that

Sadly the trailer is the best bit of the film :roll:

While the surfing is amazing, its a very poor film. Badly editted, no structure to make you care about the surfers, no background info.

The whole thing builds up to the wave you see in the trailer..... but you've already seen it in the trailer

Still amazing surfing though.

Ye I got to agree with DBBB, basically everything he said. The film just drags on until it shows that big wave at the end (but also shows it at the start). Anyway everything in the film other than surfing that huge wave is rather boring.

.. yeh yeh , class documentary but as Dbbb says .. " if youve seen the trailer you've pretty much seen the film

.. all said it is still one for the collection for anyone even if your not a surfer ! it shows the awesome power of the ocean and thats impressive enough on its own

highly reccommend trying to find a cinema that still shows it as you get a hell of a rush watching it on a big screen .. raaaarh a 60ft'er on a 30ft screen cant be beat :twisted:
