Can anyone identify this spot?

So yeah, I know this is in Tahiti, it says that much, but...does anyone recognize the exact spot?

I'm going to Tahiti in September. Is that a good month for surf there? I mean, doe Tahiti have a season or is it good all year round?

any info is appreciated.

I believe that is teahupoo. correct me if i am wrong

If you cant identify teahupoo...then I wouldnt bother trying to surf it...

yeah...don't try it if you don't know it. unless you've been stranded on some island that has world class waves.

It breaks extremely shallow (like 1-4 feet) on to a razor sharp reef. watch lairds mellinnium wave, and look how thick the lip is. now think about that coming down on you, on to basically rocks shaped like spears.

what's the difference between teahupoo and chopes? Just different names?

Teahupoo is pronounced 'Cho-poo'

I suppose cos Aussies like to shorten everything, and it's mostly Aussies who surf it, the natural thing would to be to shorten it down to 'Chopes'

Make sense??

Perfectly. I figured the Teahupoo to "Cho-poo" but had no idea where the "opes" came from.

but surely aussies shorten everything by takind the first syllable and putting 'y' at the end? but i spose chopey would make it sound a bit too friendly.

its just a year. im sure anyone on here would, unless theyre about to die. you could never work again in your life, of do what you realy want to do, travel the whole year and come back and surf every second without going to work, raise a family and everything is taken care of. you guys must be idiots.

you could buy thaousands of boards and bring them to the kids in africa so they wouldnt need to surf on planks. you could bring them medicine and food as well.

but no, youd rather surf for a year.
