Hi. The surf doesnt look good for the next week and onwards. You can find out the surf forcast at www.magicseaweed.co.uk and also http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/southwest/sites/surfing/ for south wales beaches.
This weekend doesnt look that promising really. Friday and Saturday looks like the better days. Still I dont think it will be that good, possibly messy. Monday has got 2 stars which looks a lot better. I hope this means its picking up again.

well it looks as if there is a swell coming in but according to magicseaweed its not arriving till monday. in my experience magicseaweed are pretty unreliable tho so it might come in earlier, or not at all, but your sure to get some nice weather for swimming at least.

im new too, just got my first surfboard today, i have done some surfing before but the board i have now is unlike anyother one i have used, its 7 foot and narrow  could be fun.

is anyone definatly going to llangenith on monday? i would liek to try surfing again soon, but will be going alone so it would be cool to meet up with more experienced people if you want to. also how do i get to llangenith by bus?

Hi there. welcome to the forum. I dont think you would be allowed to take a surfboard on the bus, im not sure. What dimesnions is your board exactly?

you can take a surfboard on a bus here, but youll be lucky to get a bus to gennith, i dunno if it runs that often and it takes over an hour.

I dont know a lot about the buses but ive seen some going towards Llangennith but Im not sure how far it goes, think it might only go around penclawdd and llanrhydian. Deffinately not as far as the beach (ive never seen one) so I dont think a bus would be very useful

How do you know for sure? What happens if you had like a 9-10ft longboard

well i used to take my sortboard on swt buses all the time. if you had a mal then you might have trouble getting it on to the bus but ive never tried that. no reason they wouldnt let you with a shortboard unless the bus was full or the driver was a prick.

Ye, true I guess. I mean you are allowed luggage on and a shortboard isnt too much of an awkward shape/size. Might have to pay twice though lol

no, there wioll be no waves at langland, or any of the other spots on the gower (except maybe a couple of secret ones ;) )

the reports say 4ft waves at langland on moday
i have contacted the surf school down there about how i can get my board down there, out of interest how much rougly is a taxi to llangenith from near sketty?

no, magic seaweed says 4ft at langland, thats not a report, that a dodgy forecast for offshore swell, if the swell direction theyre predicting is right then there might be a very small wave at langland but i wouldnt count on it.

your best bet is to check the times for the bus to rhossilli, that goes past my house and im pretty sure it only goes a few times a day, its not run by SWT theres a seperate company for gower buses but i cant remember what its called. It used to be bus no. 118 or 118A from stand 3 in swansea i think. That bus goes through sketty but if your gonna catch it get there at least 10 mins before the time its due and dont be suprised if its 30min or more late, buses here are pretty slack timewise. take a book to read too it can be a long ride (specially on a hot day).

Taxi would take you half an hour at least from sketty and would cost a fortune, dunno if theyd take your board in a taxi anyway.

here, i did you a favour-

the gennith buses look more regular than they used to be, you can walk down to hillend (beach) from llangennith. best phone first and check they will take your board tho
