More beautiful soulsurfing kinda movies?!

Postby hellspawn1 » Sun Jun 04, 2006 8:57 pm

Do ya have any tips for sort of...

smaller-wave, beauty-focused, souly sort of surfing movies?

I am particually interested in tropical, crystal-clear water surf, with laidback ambient music

I liked parts of (the movie as whole was a girly non-informative kidsflick) Roxy "learn to surf" or "surf now" film, where sort of native singing-style ambient was present in music and those really clean waves broke on screen, soft feeling I say..

I also like aerials (though, yeah, they tend to be on bigger waves..)

(I despise all those superbig-wave movies with annoying skate/punk-music)

purely soul surfing and amazing videography. plus it comes with a groovy soul music cd as a bonus. definately get it.

Yeah, I watched Endless summer 1 & 2, great movies
but the "third" (step into liquid) wasn't great at all

But the first two are really laidback, and classic

I'll check out "my eyes wont dry",

what kinda music is featured in sprout ?

and is hang a longboard movie?

keep droppin' smooth surfmovies as described! :]

Check out the full title "HANG: The Manifest Destiny Of The Longboard Cult"

hehe! All sounds quite retro but it opens with Hawaii and Bonga Charging double overhead Pipe... And cool music.

You gotta see SHELTER. The best soul surf movie ever!!!!!! Pacific Vibrations is another ripper but hard to find. You can also try Glass Love.

I heard billabongs Blue Horizon was very good, haven't seen it yet. But might be want you want:

" Blue Horizon is a surf movie with a new angle. For the last two years Jack McCoy follows the lives of current world surfing champion Andy Irons and 'soul surfer' Dave 'Rasta' Rastovich. The movie looks at cultural differences between the worlds of competition surfing and free surfing. The film has a backdrop of the history of surfing, as well as, visiting some amazing surf locations around the globe.

What do you get when you mix one of the worlds best competitive surfers with one of the worlds best free surfers? You get the exciting new surfing film Blue Horizon. "
