sorry I dont mean to waste a post here, but I was just wondering, GowerCharger - why does Langlands surf cam always say its something around 6-9ft when its never that? Ive noticed that its always inaccurate, I know no surf camera is bang on, but the others are roughly right.
Langlands always says its high.

if you mean the gowerlive cam, the size shown at the bottom of the page next to the little cartoon guy is the size at llangennith.
When you can see the surf at langers clearly on the cam, using that + the size at gennith + the swell direction you can pretty much work out what size every other break on the gower will be.

Ye, i know you can work it out alright, but I was wondering why Langland says 7ft @ 8 seconds most of the times (next to the wind direction and everything). Doesnt matter really, was just curious why Lnaglands cam always says its 6-7ft

 aah right, in the top left corner? thats the current swell at the pembroke buoy, i dunno why they put that on its not that usefull just to have the current swell at the buoy, you need to go to the buoys page (clilck on the time just above) so you can see the buoy readings for teh last 24h.
when you know a swell is coming that buoy will give you the indication of when its arriving, bear in mind it takes a day or so to arrive once it passes the buoy and the size will diminish as it approaches the shore.
Longer period swell generally have a longer fe_tch and will hold their size better and are cleaner, also they get round points into sheltered spots better than short period windswell.
