SE/London Surfers - Heads up, swell on way.

An unusually intense set of low pressures for the time of year crossing the UK over the next few days (wouldnt plan any BBQs).

So for all of you living in the smoke, or 200 miles from Devon an unusual opportunity to get some local spring-time south-coast surf :D

Gonna be windy though, so not classic, but could be a lot worse, and could get pretty good if the wind drops as far as some models suggest they might. Although personally I think there's still gonna be a cross-shore gale blowing :?

Should be surfable though :D

I always say I'll warn the SE'ers next time theres swell on the way, and I never do. But now I am.

This information is provided free of charge, and remember you get what you pay for.

Sounds like lots of fun. Hope you have a good time. I'm still counting the cost of our last trip! Am saving up for a mad one in Newquay with a few mates in 2 wks - hoping there's going to be some waves! Will drink myself silly if there's not. Either way sounds good! Unless of course I start talking about the stars (ahem  ).

Gonna be very windy (20mph+) but hopefully dropping later in the weekend. Looking to me like sunday might be the day, but the situation is very changeable so the decision for when and where is gonna be last second as usual

Okay... everything changes again...

Saturday - good size wave, poor to okay period, strong cross shore winds.

Sunday - swell dropping, but still there, wind should drop a fair bit, but might go direct onshore.

The Surf Decision is gonna be made at about 6am on saturday morning I think...

So are you looking at the south coast beaches then?
Cos on the same winds it gets sick on the east coast too :D .
Southwold and Hopton go off on a southerly swell, can't wait cos on the east coast its slightly offshore so fine if its windy cos we've got cliffs to shelter us too. The windier it is the bigger the waves :D.

East coast is a bit out of the way for me :?

150 miles to Hopton, but only 50 to the south coast, so unless Im making a weekend of it, it'll be a south coast surf for me. If, on the other hand, its looking like a disaster on the south coast and classic on the east, then flesh' it, east coast weekend it is

Hmmm, just been lookin at the charts (...again..)

You reckon that'll work on the east coast? I dont see any swell generators for the east. But I dont know much about the east coast, and Im always willing to learn about a new spot :D
