You want Cold Water wax. Popular choices are Mrs Palmers and Mr Zoggs (My Favourite - smells unbelivable! :D )

depends where your surfing most... Personally I use this...

Cold' water Nov - May/June

'Cool' water June-Oct

Obiviously it depends on the change times, I usually run by the feel of things as right now I need to change as the warmer skys and waters are making my wax a little too soft now.

But again its down to personal preference. Alot of people use a cool water wax as a base coat during the summer months and a light covvering of cold water on that.

you want a really good basecoat, sex wax do really good basecoat.
on top of that youll want cold water wax, maybe cool for the end of the summer but its not really needed unless you find your wax is coming off on the warmer days.
for the top coat palmers is good, very sticky but a little soft so youll need to put more on more often especially in summer, but then its cheaper than sex wax so both work out about the same overall.
If you travel into france or spain youll want coll water wax and its a good idea to take some out with you when you surf so you can stick some more on if you need.

And dont leave it on your dashboard on a hot day ;)

To be a real surfer, you need at least one cup-holder half-full of melted/solidifed wax

Makes the car smell nice too :D

french alps....so lucky!!!

Backcountry skiing/mountaineering seems like it's right up my alley, but the mountains are too small around here, and there usually isn't snow on them.

So papa, how, or what do you wax your sponges?

Well depending on what i'll be mainly riding that session...

If i'll be doing any dk riding (i can only dk on rights) i tend to put some smears where my knee and foot are placed for obivious reasons.
Other wise i'll just have smears on the nose rails, top and bottom angles. and bit down the top and bottom rails half way down where i grip when riding. The a little on the tail corners and tiny bit on the deck.
I personally only put tiny amounts on so most of it wears off each session and doesn't get all cakked up on the board. But after each season it still needs stripping.

if people can't picture that i'll try and get a pic :p
