Does it have to be that used surfboard? Can't you buy it new? It really depends on the price difference and what each board has to offer

well it would cost about 4 times as much as the used board to get one shaped and ive tried it a couple of times and i love the way it paddles and catches waves and rides. basically what i would do if i went to a shaper would be to ask for the same kind of thing so at the moment im thinking buy the used one which i know how it rides and such rather than blowing 4 times the amount on a new board which i have no guarantee i will like.
but i just thought id run it by you guys to see what y'all think.
cheers james

That sounds like a good idea. You save a lot of money and get a board that suits you well. You should do that if you like the board that much.

Go with the used board, i broke my newly shaped board (i waited 3 months for that thing) my 1st session the board snaps (it was pretty big 8-9ft heavy)
ive been buying used boards since

Gutting! £400 odd snapped so soon. I wouldn't know how to cope with that.
Did you take it out straight away or something? and did you tell the shaper about it?
