Magic Carpets?

Postby derbyshire surfer » Fri Apr 28, 2006 9:25 pm

I'm thinking about getting a 'magic carpet' board, has anyone out there got one/used one?

My understanding is they are a 'long board' with a couple of feet missing from the middle? Easier for me to transport with the longboard style hopefully?

Are they as suitable for nose riding hanging toes as they are said to be?

Thanks,

Any advice on these boards would be great!

If you have progressed to get a shorter Mal, then try a large shortboard.

It will save you some more money

Hi there,
I've got a magic carpet, one i shaped myself using an oshea board as an outline. You're right there are a longboard with the centre cut out. Mines on a single fin and is quite flat with only 4 inches of nose rocker. I've put concave in the nose and it is possible to get up on the nose although ive yet to hang my toes. Vee in the tail for control.
The board is also very fast i can blast down the line and make sections really easily. The rounded pin tail is also very good for riding fakie.
I realy like mine and i'm not a longboarder but ride fishes and my carpet.
If you pm me an email address i'll send you some photos if you want. Hope this helps.
