Has anyone started using the knee to pop-up and then learned to pop-up in one movement?
I am too much accustomed to use the knee and now it's a problem.

Use the "kick" methode:

Before popping, lift your feet together and "kick" them down fast. That way you can initiate the pop easier. Try it on land first.

I hope this helps ...

Yeh snap and as a consequence it took me months to get to my feet. Still use my knees sometimes by mistake. Just make a conscious effort not to use your knees when you pop up, put absoloutley every drop of energy in your body into popping up, and just keep practicing. It took me a month of solid surfing to even get close to breaking the habit.....
