Custom boards: resin tint vs. paint

Postby skully78 » Mon Mar 27, 2006 7:22 am

I ordered my first custom board from Guy Takayama and I'm trying to decide on what to do with paint. What are the advantages of resin tint over paint? vice versa? Any suggestions? I was honestly going to go clear. But its not gonna cost much more to get it painted. But its Guy's last Clark blank so I'll figure I'll do it up right.

Its a 7'2" GWAT. I'm thinking about getting it resin tinted with a grey swirl bottom and a clear top like the GT-1 on his page but only with a red pinline around where the grey meets the clear. I don't want anything too flashy cause I'm not a flashy surfer.
