My question is: should your strong foot be on the back of the board? becasue my strong foot is my left and i place my right foot on the back of my board (im natural\regular foot) ive felt its the best for me when i skated a few years ago, I doubt i can surf goofy after all this time.

Lean forward..like a tree falling. Which ever foot goes forward naturally is your back foot.

ok i tried that and strangly my right leg went forward, this is weird because when i play soccer or even duckdive, i do that with my left foot
i think my legs are twisted or something

as i said when i used to skate my right leg was at the back and left leg infront (just like on a surfboard) and i used to push the skate with my right leg, some weird stuff i know

that's what i would do if i was unsure. just switch it up and if that feels better then go with it.

I'm not trying to start an argument, but I heard the opposite...

I'm goofyfoot, and when I tried to do the pop-up regular I would end up facing the nose with both feet next to eachother :P .
I think my tendency to want to put my right foot forward is too strong to try and surf regular with out serious amounts of practice and reconditioning.

Yup. Its the opposite

The best one Ive heard is to run along a slippery floor and then skid - whichever foot is forward... is your forward foot :D

But seeing as it'll take about thirty seconds in the water to work it out, thats probably the way to go...

I skateboarded goofy foot for a long time and when i took up surfing i found that when i popped up, my left foot naturally went forward putting me in the natural foot position. This made problems in that my whole body positioning was trained as a goofy footer. eventually retrained my self skating as a natural footer to get body/foot positioning right. took a while but not a prob now.
