Ok..that post makes almost nos sense, except for you are saving a wave?!? Maybe if you tie leash to the wave and lock it up, then it will be safe!? its a wave...made of water...can not stop!

Development can have a drastic effect on waves. Spots have dissapeared the world over due to development - the dredging that caused Mundaka to go is a good example.
It's just like the wave got up and left - the local environmental conditions change and the wave goes.
