i know someones probably asked this before, but do the waves change size when the water is being sucked out or pushed in as the tides change?? how so?

it depends on the break. Some breaks it doesn't matter much, some spots only break at high tide, and some spots break better at low tide. It is totally dependent on the spot you surf.

In terms of how the actual wave is affected (only by tidal movements and excluding any other influencing factors) The incommming tide tends to add hight and power/push as a general rule. The ebb can make waves more sucky or hollower. But agian this varys from place to place as the tidal ranges of different areas are greater than others.

on larger swells it makes it a tiny bit more fun but saunton is the king of phatness.
