So many beginners have trouble popping up.
"Should I grab the rails with my fingers or keep my hands on the deck ?"
"Do I grab more forward or more back ?"
"How do I get a more explosive pop up ?"

Well here's the answer to your problem !!

Other than it seems like it would fall right off with the first errant bump it looks like it has potential to help certain surfers. It adds a couple inches clearance from the deck. One other problem that I see would be getting it placed in the right place by someone who maybe doesn't understand popping up but for skilled surfers who have health problems hmmm maybe. It would probably hinder my popup because I don't always popup in the same place.

Pretty cool idea, but I still think the best way to learn it is practice the movement on a carpet or floor then go surf empty closeouts and practice popping up in different situations, experienced surfers with problems i can see this being a useful product for, but i think it would just make my pop up worse and my main shortboard is too thin for it too, I would be laying on it the whole time. Maybe I would try it on my groveller though.

I’m sure Id get knobbed in the head first time out. Those can’t feel good when paddling.

Can they slide back for late drops? Slide forward as the tide rises? One of the things I love about surfing is the simplicity. Board, fins, boardshorts leash and car key. Thats it.
Putting wax on the tops of my feet was about the biggest revolutionary idea I could process.

Sometimes the better mousetrap isn’t better.
