OK, I'm sick of this business now- I need a winter suit so that I can go surfing more often.

Anyone know where a good place to get one in the UK is? I'm looking for good value, what do people think?

Hi I've got a Rip Curl Aquaban Elasto 2 5mmx3mm for £174 from boardshop.co.uk usually £200. This winter suit is the great as it is really flexable especially in the water so if you think the size is tight on don't worrie as it will stretch to your body after a few uses as do most things like shoes. Also it has a removeable batwing which you pull over your head then around your neck so you don't have to have a rash vest, you dont have to worrie about getting a rash around your neck as do most suits. The removeable batwing also let's you to put on a hood (ripcurl only) which is a plus. I think this suit is great.

P.S I recomend you don't wear boardshort's with the suit or a rashy, no need. it will only restrict you to harder paddling

Yeah, I've got an Ultimate Elasto Slickskin summer suit with the batwing - it does cut down on the old flushing!

Might look at a RipCurl suit - Fistral Surf have got some for around £100 on special offer!

ye firstral surf are by far the best and cheapest. Id get one there. Aslong as you know your size.
One day in september when I went surfing and really flt the cold in 5 min, I had to get an awsome winter wetsuit with a hood cause I was becoming ill. So I had a huge shop around every shop, and decided to get the billabong gold solution with hood. Im pleased with it. Might not be the best looking suit but it does the job well and keeps you from becoming ill.

Its £250 and fistral sell it for £189 - was gutted when i saw this afterwards (then again didnt know my size exact)

Oh and sin' ....deffo got to be rocking the boots and hood ! no need for gloves yet !

can't reccomend any shops, as i'm here in the states...but if you can find a good deal on one (as they are quite pricey) I definately recomend the oneill psycho 2. I picked up a 6/5/4 one used (1 season old) and looked practically brand new condition to me. even smelled clean Suit is super warm. This is my first time ever winter surfing, so I can't compare it to any other suits, but I am very impressed with the warmth and flexability. It is lighter/more flexable than my 4mm Dacor that I was wearing, the thing feels like nothing. I was surfing last weekend in 35 air temps with a foot of snow on the ground and I was warm - hard to believe (i'm still stunned myself).

If you do opt for another brand...I hear that attached hood is the way to go. hear good things of excel infinity suits as well.

yes, i have boots and a hood with the wetsuit but couldnt be bothered to splash out on the gloves, no need i dont think. I could have had the o'neill psycho 2 wetsuit except it didnt come with the hood(only had the hoodless one), the billabong gold solution and psycho 2 are pretty equal - cost the same and carry the same features.

I use a Psycho 2 as well . 3rd winter season now and just starting to wear at the seems - nothing some wetty glue can't sort out tho. Damn good suit.
Just got me some Xcel round toe boots. 7mm jobs that rock! I used them for the first time yesterday and had to trudge through 3-4 inches of snow on the sand - after 2 + 1/2 hrs my feet were still toasty . Seriously not too thick at 7mm - get some!

I've got those gloves and the 5mm split toe boots. They are sweet!

I didn't like the split ones when I tried them.. Went for some mitts instead this year.
Felt a bit detached from the board initally cause they where thick but got used to that and they are soooo toastie!
