yea so i bought the bruce movie and all i can say it was awesome. the whole movie is just ridiculous. it gives you an in depth look at bruce and his outlook on surfing, and plus his whole style. i can say now that he's my favorite surfer. all the extra features were hilarious plus the soundtrack is out of this world. every song fit the context of every scne PERFECTLY. the best scenes were definately the intro part, the teahupo'o scene, who the hell is this guy?, france was good, eddie aukau scene, the barrel scene, and the ending. haha basically every scene! i liked the whole vide and the 16mm film. the wipeouts, runman's bruce movie, and all the other stuff is just awesome. i loved this movie so much.

also, i got a free dvd about the Globe WCT Fiji from transworld surf which was amazing as well. chris cote was hilarious and the whole vibe on the islands was pretty cool. it was tight to see all the best surfers in the world just chillin partyin and playin tennis

yea so the bruce movie was my first surf movie. i liked it so much i went out to get another surf movie. i didnt really know what to look for so i looked in my surf mag's for waht was good (i suscribe to surfing magazine and transworld surf) i saw lots of ads for the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing: the best of 2004. so i went out and bought it. what can i say, i despised it. it was sooooo bad compared to teh bruce movie. it had the most shitty punk rock music that was so repetative. it all sounded the same. Plus it was so unorganized i didnt know what event was what and who was surfing. basically is was just an hour long bit of frames of surfing with crappy music thrown in there with a few comments from sunny and bruce. Extra features sucked.

so when i think about it, a good surf movie cant just be some cool moves and some random music. You have to capture the whole vibe of surfing and what it's all about. or at least have some meaning to the film and not just some bull.

im looking at some new movies now. im definately considering buying Campaign 2 and Fair Bits. and maybe this new one called No one's Heroes or something because its about modern aerial surfing and that should be tight as hell.

so if you know of any movies worth seeing or you've seen the movies ive seen adn wanna talk about drop a post

North Shore!

Just about the tackiest film ever made, but worth it for a laugh and some great (if a bit retro) surfing.

Got loads of the old ASP pros -

Derek Ho
Michael Ho
Occy
Laird Hamilton
Mark Foo

Very funny - also the lead guy was 'Styles' friend in Teen Wolf!!

haha i confess i saw blue crush too. soooooo bad, i went with a girl. the only good part is when she smashes her face against the coral reef, you could hear the crunching sound. hahaha i laughed so hard and everyone looked at me.

its a chick flick. not a surf movie.

talk about surf movies!

By far one of the most inspiring movie that I own is Shelter. It inspires me in my day to day life and in my surfing, for sure!!!! What it's all about to me. Definately sprout is up there with it, similar vibe.

campaign, campaign 2, blue horizon, a broke down melody, thicker than water are all pretty damn good

i didnt think campaign 2 was that good...just loads of surfing with no meaning. films need meaning. plus the side story about teh hollywood movie was pretty dumb, although it was funny to see guys like kelly and rob play some funny roles. the biker was pretty funny too.
