Need your advice about stance

Hi guys. I am learning surfing. I have kinda beginner level of surfing with a surfboard soft 6ft. Also I use a carver.
I have some problems with understanding stance because on the surfboard I use regular stance but on the carver goofy. On the carver I can do many maneuvers that I need and want to do on the surfboard. And I feel that potential of goofy stance much better.
When I do pop up on the surfboard I feel that it’s more easy to do pop up to regular stance but every maneuvers I try to perform is rather difficult.
And now I am in a big dilemma . what can I change? Stance on the carver and train more on the carver for regular stance or try to change stance on the surfboard?

It‘s more common than you think the switching of feet between a skateboard and surfboard as kicking off for drive , is you kick foot the right foot which goes to the front? Or is your left foot ?
On a surfboard there is no kick to push only pop up to stance, develop your surfing skills as they have developed, later more skill you could even become a switchfoot!

If you wanna try getting more comfortable with goofy foot in surfing, try putting your right/lead hand higher up on the rail and the opposite hand further down during your popup. Usually that makes your pop-up faster.. you might already be doing that unknowingly with your regular foot stance and making it feel more natural.

That is interesting I have heard of many people who skateboard one way and surf the other. When I skateboarded I used my front foot regular stance to push the board. But I learned to skim board or what we call sand slide long before skateboarding and that was regular stance and when I skateboarded and surfed it remained the same. However I could switch stance skateboarding and learned for a while to switch surfing. I was however apparently into being ambidextrous through my youth (except for sand sliding). No longer so at the age of 68.
